The little rescue with a big heart
Our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving, permanent homes for homeless dogs, specifically dogs in shelters at-risk of euthanasia and dogs whose owners can no longer care for them. We believe in compassionate rescue when the dog is enduring inhumane living conditions or likely to be deemed less adoptable due to age, health, emotional state, or breed. We ensure that all the dogs we take into our rescue, regardless of individual needs, are cared for with love and compassion for the duration of their lives.

Back in February, we got a call about a beautiful ten-month old pup that was found wandering as a stray in Long Beach, CA. The Good Samaritan who found her took her in, kept her safe, and did all the right things to look for an owner: notified the shelter, canvassed the neighborhood, and posted flyers and found dog notices everywhere. Sadly, no one ever came forward. Determined to do right by the pup (who has since been named Blanca), the good samaritan offered to complete a 30-day finder hold and help Blanca find a new home if no owner could be found. All the person asked for was help to make sure Blanca was spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated so she could be rehomed responsibily. For us, agreeing to a request like that was a no-brainer! With some help from the team @lbanimalcare , we are happy to report that we made that happen. Blanca is officially ready to find her forever family. Here is what her caretaker has to say about her: "Introducing the delightful Blanca! She’s the epitome of a good dog – gentle, sweet, and oh-so-docile. Watch out for her speedy dashes when doors open, though – she’s got a knack for adventure! While she’s never mingled with cats, she prefers a feline-free environment during her strolls. But when it comes to fellow pups and people, she’s a social butterfly and always up for a cuddle session. At home, you’ll find her lounging on her bed or occasionally having a romp with her furry companion. No separation anxiety here – Blanca is perfectly content with some solo relaxation time. She is still learning to come when called, but she is a clever girl, already mastering "sit" and "come.” Blanca does well on leash, is house trained, and poised to bring endless joy and wagging tails to her forever family!" Like many rescues, we are at capacity. While not an official member of our rescue, we are courtesy posting Blanca in the hopes of spreading the word about her. The good folks over @healinghounds agreed to help network her as well! #teamwork 🫱🏻🫲🏽 If you think Blanca sounds like a good fit for your family, please send us a message or email us at info@k9kismet.org so we can connect you with her guardian. #notallheroswearcapes 🫶
